#11.JoAnn Reichert: Little Book Swap!

Mail Art and creative little books . . . it does not get much better than that, and that is exactly what I received from JoAnn Reichert from Pennsylvania!

JoAnn sent in 3 books for the swap plus an extra one for me.

The round one she sent is so interesting . . . 

it is made from coasters, with hand-crochet edges.

This tiny book is made from dryer sheets, paint & gesso!

The butterfly book she made is a tiny coffee filter book

with dyed fabric, stamped and painted.

wonderful little quotes inside each coffee filter pocket!

#10.Rebecca Williams: Little Book Swap!

I received 2 gorgeous little books from Rebecca (Becky!) the other day and am just getting to upload them now. That will probably be par for the course with this swap. #9.Leslie Sowden -Little book swap!

From California, I received lovely mail art and 3 wonderful little books for our swap due June 18. Wow! If you are like me, you are probably marveling at the amazing variety and beauty coming in for this swap.

I love Leslie's illustrated Mail Art for me :  ^ )

For what she did for the swap, I will quote Leslie. "I tried 3 or 4 of the methods in the lesson she included with the swap fee, plus about 3 more from the net. Some were ok, some were cool, but I ended up doing something from scratch using crazy quilt blocks that I had pieced from batik fabrics but never finished (typical for me). One has no stitching, one has one seam done, the third has a bit more, but nothing like the encrusted look I used to go for when CQing."

Inside the books the pages consist of pages from old books, scrapbook papers, images from an old art book, a sheet of handmade paper, etc... I really love this mix of fabric and quilting on the front and paper on the inside. Leslie bound them all with Tim Holtz tissue tape. She says, "What cool stuff."
I have to agree!!

Leslie popped her books in unsealed envelopes which is great for me - easy to open, photograph & return. Leslie also very kindly made an extra, different book for me! It has a page in it from 1816!!! The cover is handmade paper and it is bound with linen thread. See it below.

#8.Bobbie Bryan - Little Book swap!

I had so much going on yesterday I could not upload Bobbie Byran's little books, until today! Remember to check the participant list in the sidebar. I will always make a note on the same day that I receive your package. I am not always able to upload them to the blog on that day though! I will do it as soon as I am able to, thanks in advance for understanding.

What a delight Bobbie's package was to receive. It traveled to me all the way from Oregon! She stamped a figure on the box holding a big rope going around my name & address saying, "To the Amazing . . . .Lenna Andrews . ." Just so much fun, thank you Bobbie.

Thank you so much Bobbie for creating an extra one of your Origami books for me!! It will be hard to choose which one, they are all so pretty. I love the designs on your Moo mini cards too. I am not familiar with your work, are they some of your paintings/drawings I wonder? Very refreshing!

Now, if I do not receive any packages today you probably will not see me post again until Monday at the soonest as we are going out of town, sans computers this weekend. If you write a comment here sometime over the weekend and do not see it get published right away, don't worry! It will get published sometime on Sunday evening when I am back to the computer. I have to do comments this way to keep any spam off of the blog!

#7.Lisa Mallette: Little Book swap!

I just love these itsy bitsy teensy weeny books that Lisa from Florida sent in for our swap! And she gave me the idea to put a quarter in the photo so you could see how really tiny they are. The Bird book (shrink plastic) is a hostess gift!

I have some close ups below with the books open. They are little envelope books, how cool! And yes, you can even pull the "notes" out ; ^ ) Lisa wrote about making them and has some even better photos here.

Lisa, I hope you have a really wonderful time taking classes with Tim Holtz in Clearwater this weekend at Whim-so-doodle. This is a new store for me, I will need to check it out!! If I had known, I might have been able to join you . . . except, Steven has wrangled me into going to a Cedar Key boating - canoeing - sailing weekend coming up on Friday. Here is what last year's event was like. I have never been there before but it should be fun. We even have a Pet Sitter for Asia & Chloe!!

#6.Margriet van Schaik - Little Book Swap!

From the Netherlands, we have 2 gorgeous little books from Margriet van Schaik. Remember! You can send in 2, 3 or 4 little books and you will receive the same amount in return when I swap them out. Yippee!

I love these 2 books Margriet made! 

Margriet also kindly put in a package of old book pages in with her little books as a hostess gift for me! 

The tag she made with my name, makes me smile. I just used the name tag she made for me from another swap, by recycling it in an art journal spread the other day! (Lenna tag - music paper - right hand side!) 

Please note: sending any kind of hostess gift is absolutely optional. 

I appreciate anything extra you'd like to send me but this is definitely not a requirement. I know that sometimes just getting the swaps packaged up to be sent is all that is possible and I totally understand. Thank you, Margriet. It is a pleasure having you in any creative swap!

Oh my! All the way from Germany, I received a beautiful mail art box filled with 4 little books for our swap. It came from Valerie Tups ; 0 )

I love getting mail art and so appreciate it when you have the time! 

Inside were Val's wonderful little books, each wrapped up individually in a cool fabric. Here they are below, unwrapped!
