Sabine Schneider: By the Sea ATC swap

Two sets of 3 ATCs, plus 1 extra one have arrived from Sabine Schneider in Germany! I'm so excited that all the International mail has arrived on time. There is one more week to go... All ATCs need to be in my hands by June 24th. Please let me know if you don't think you can make the deadline, I would appreciate it. I hope you can send them in now, but if not, just let me know. No worries! 

Sabine has made seven fabric ATCs that she sewed to a sturdy paper base. They are so lovely! Thank you, Sabine for all your wonderful fabric and collage art over the years. Can you believe this is Sabine's 17th creative swap! She started doing swaps with me in 2009... that's fabulous.

The time is near . . .Soon I will be swapping all of the ATCs.

Sabine Schneider - prayer flag swap!!

Oh my goodness, Sabine's flags to 5 weeks to reach me from Germany! I am so glad she sent early and I was so very happy to find them in my mailbox today. So was she!!
Sabine packaged her flags so nicely I scanned them just as she sent them, but I also have a link to her blog so you can see them "out of the package."  : )

I have a routine colonoscopy scheduled tomorrow morning . . . it's very important for me to do, especially because of my dad's colon cancer history. So I will be back later . . .  hopefully more packages will be waiting for me in the mailbox when Steven brings me home from the procedure. Gosh, I don't know what I was expecting, but I am amazed at what the participants are producing for this swap. How fun it will be to take our swap beads and create something to share, but that you get to keep. I really appreciate your participation and your enthusiasm even if you are not in the swap!

Sabine Schneider - July ATCs: colour my world!

These ATCs are from Sabine Schneider in Germany, who has completed 10 creative swaps with me!! Sabine has decided to color her world Pink. That sounds and looks good to me. Thank you, Sabine! I love your fabric ATCs.

#32.Sabine Schneider- Little Book swap!

From Germany, Sabine has sent 5 lovely and very interesting fabric accordion books. 4 came in for our swap and one for me! I read on Sabine's blog how she started out making these by painting canvas cut into long sections with white acrylic paint and then sanding them. You can read all the posts she wrote relating to the little book swap on Sabine's blog here. You will need a translator if you do not know German. I use Google Chrome as my browser and it offers automatic translation of other languages as one of the options "under the hood" in the tools! Sabines's books each came wrapped in a colorful German paper napkin, take a look below.

Thank you, Sabine! Especially for making an extra book for me. I think the paper napkin will be extra fun to play with too, by pulling off the thin top layer to use in collage. Sabine Schneider: Mail ART swap!

Dear Sabine in Germany, is partaking in I believe her 8th creative swap!! She always does something creative, and 9 times out of 10 she does it with fabric. It is a joy to have her in our mail art swap! I almost forgot to say, Sabine has an art blog, Color Fly. She wrote about her envelopes and the swap, in German of course as that is where she is from, "Es ist einfach der Wahnsinn, was da alles für schöne Post verschickt wird!" --Which Google translated for me as, "It is simply the madness, all of which will be sent to postal beautiful there!"  : ^ ))

Sabine's envelopes are created from some kind of interfacing I think (heavy duty - Lutradur) that she painted. I remember when she sent them off she told me in an email, "I sewed so little!"

Sabine Schneider: technique tag swap!

I received 3 packages yesterday, and one was from Sabine Schneider in Germany!

Sabine wrote me a note and said this was a good opportunity to use a few of her stamps and water soluble crayons. She said it was different, but fun! (Sabine generally does a lot of beautiful fabric art). In the end, she said, she had to stitch a little bit on the tags (the woman's profile). A lovely addition to our books, Sabine.

Sabine also enclosed a house warming gift for me which was unexpected and so lovely. She made me a beautiful little key case that i cannot resist showing you!
