Dottie Mucha: Technique Tag Book swap

Star Ornament Swap! Dottie Mucha ~ Connecticut

This is Dottie's 8th creative swap and she has created some marvelous star ornaments. Featured as a close-up to the right and below, is the extra ornament that she made for me, front and back -thank you!!

Dottie's stars are lightweight and dimensional; some even have trim on the side edges, which is flat. They are mostly Victorian in theme and she has collaged them beautifully!

Row House Swap: Dottie Mucha ~ Connecticut

My neighbor, Dottie Mucha, has made the greatest little Row Houses! They are choc-full of of interesting little shrink plastic pieces (click on any photo for more detail). Plus Dottie utilized the little windows and doors of these chipboard houses to put scenes or people behind them : ^ ) Dottie used the Chipboard Houses set she got from Alpha Stamps . . . .

Dottie created 11 -Two sets of houses, plus 1 for me! I know this is not always possible, but I do appreciate the extra as a gift. Thank you! And I think the texture on these houses is the result of her play date with her sister Rena? Yes! Dottie wrote and told me how she got this texture:

"And, yes the bachground technique was similar to the one Rena & I played with. We first did alcohol inks on glossy paper, then used the fusible web then embossing powder. With the houses, I used the fusible web then put on embossing powder and for the teal ones I also sprayed them with Radiant Rain "Fern" (color). I did the edges with an Encore stamp pad (teal). I painted a few of the fairy houses with Golden's Titan Buff then did the fusible web and embossing powder. I think I gave you one of these. Most are the fusible web and embossing powder. I filled in areas and the edges with an Encore pad (pink)." Dottie

Grimm fairytale 5x5 Collage swap: Dottie Mucha

My neighbor, Dottie Mucha, has delivered to my doorstep 4 collages for the Brothers Grimm fairytale swap plus 2 extra collages in the same design as the first; 1 for Leslie at Alpha Stamps & 1 for me -thank you, Dottie!!

Dottie tells me she never allows herself to look at the swaps blog until she has finished her pieces. Such restraint! I don't know if I could do that . . . I would be sure to be taking a peek just to see what everyone else was doing : )

I love the idea Dottie has come up with, so maybe her method does have a lot of merit. On each of her collages Dottie has include a window, complete with a clear covering. It looks great and gives her an additional area to work in.

Altered by Design ATC swap: Dottie Mucha

These beautiful ATCs are the work of Dottie Mucha, who lives across the street from me! She simply walked over, rang my doorbell, and my 2 terriers Chloe & Asia let me know she was here! Dottie didn't have to add postage money either, because she knows I can hand deliver her return swaps to her : )

Mother Goose ATCs - Dottie Mucha, CT

Dottie Mucha was able to hand deliver her ATCs directly to my mailbox, wow! Since we have moved, Dottie is now a neighbor of mine, what fun! (and so easy for art swaps!) In fact, Dottie will be attending a local workshop I will be teaching called "Quilties" at Sew Inspired in Simsbury CT in just about 2 weeks. : ))

Anyway, Dottie so kindly dropped off 7 ATCs; an extra one for me, 1 for Alpha Stamps - and then Dottie will receive 5 in exchange later this month. Dottie's ATCs are created from The Peter, Pumpkin eater fabric sheet from Alpha Stamps, and she has stamped "The PICK of the PATCH" over the images - it looks just right! Thanks Dottie.

Circle Book Swap - Dottie Mucha - Avon, CT

Dottie Mucha (who lives in the same town as I do!) sent in 21 beautiful Turquoise Circle Pages on the theme of "The Sea Speaks" - she so kindly sent in an extra page for me! Dottie has added netting, sand & shells, and I think she used Lumiere paint too. Each page is unique but on the same theme and using the same elements; which is often how I work. Dottie wrote to me and added, "I did use the lumiere paint and I covered it, front and back, with Dorland's Wax Medium to seal the paint so it won't stick. The sand is a mixture of Golden's Clear Granular Gel and a dark brown embossing powder." Thank you!!

Dottie Mucha from Avon, Connecticut (that's my town too!) has sent in 3 sets of 3, beautiful white, soft as summer breeze Garden ATCs.
