Julie Welsh: By the Sea ATC swap

From Julie in Michigan, 3 ATCs (and 1 extra) that I would describe as retro: Imitative of a style, fashion, or design from the recent past. :O) Julie is very talented at creating retro art! I love the strong colors and images she used. Plus her backgrounds are so fab. She wrote cute "Tips" on the back of her ATCs ~ I especially love this one: Clean hands and scissors regularly while gluing. That's a good tip for me!

This is Julie's 8th swap with me, so glad to have her art here.

Thanks, Jewels! You can view all of her entries HERE.

❤ creatively yours, lenna

Julie Welsh: Stitchie Swap ;0)

I can tell the fun is just beginning for me . . . soon all the swaps will start rolling in and it will be a delight to go out & get the mail! Today, I received these beauties from my friend Julie (jewels) Welsh, all the way from Michigan:

She made 3 for the swap . . . and an extra for me, so kind!

Here's how she handles the info on the back:

She made an info card and used washi tape to attach it to her stitchies. Brilliant!

and they arrived in a great mail art envelope with a cool vintage card.
One of the lovely benefits of hosting a swap!

There are just 3 weeks left for swap arrivals to get delivered to me. All swaps must be here, in my hands, BY FEBRUARY 1st in order to be part of the swap!
You can do it! Three submissions are here and mine is almost complete. 14 more to come in!

If you like to work last minute, now is your time! I will continue to take registrations for 2 more weeks and we would love to have you join us. Registration is HERE!

have fun! lenna

Ocean/Sunset ATCs: Julie (Jewels) Welsh

My friend and "we ❤ mail art" swap partner in crime Jewels Welsh is participating in our Ocean/Sunset ATC swap. I received her ATCs today -yay! Her ATCs are a mix of both fabric and paper. I love that. Lots of texture with both and I also really like the old postage stamps she used! Jewels has reminded me to search for my box of postage stamps, a great addition to collage or ATCs.

Jewels made an extra one for me! Thank you, sweet friend.
Also check out her design for the back of her ATCs :o)

If you are participating the deadline is 2 weeks away (as of April 8th).
ALL of your ATCs need to be delivered to me on/before April 23rd.
Looking forward to receiving yours!

Julie (Jewels) Welsh - Inspiration Collage

My friend Jewels' collages arrived on Jan 6th. I found them waiting for me when we returned from our little trip to Sanibel :) I try to scan & upload the items promptly, but starting with this swap I am giving myself a break and allowing 48 hours to get it done! I do mark them received on the SWAP PARTICIPANT LIST - if you want to check on their arrival anytime -just click there. It is January 8th as I type . . . you have 3 weeks to get your swaps delivered to me and in my hands by January 30th. So think about starting this weekend if you want to be included. It does not have to be fancy or complicated (unless that is what you want to do). I would love to see you simply jump in and PLAY!! I can see that is was Jewels did and it makes me ✴ s m i l e

I love recognizing the different creative ways many of you are using the collage bits I sent.

Jewels loves this style of vintage and I think it looks great on this collage
with a snippet of text I provided. Also, I spy that Canadian map I sent her especially!

The little boy Jewels has combined with the vintage dog I sent her are perfect!
So glad you enjoyed playing in this swap Jewels. Love what you did.

Then Jewels made an extra collage especially for me & where I live, see below.
Not necessary but very welcome - ThanK YoU Jewels!!

Awesome!!

Looking forward to finding yours in my mailbox and adding them to the growing pile.

Julie Oman- Prayer Flag Swap!

Julie Oman (Jewels, as we like to call her) has made some wonderful vintage style prayer flags for our swap. I left them in their sheer presentation bags when I scanned them so you could see them as Jewels prepared them, but if you go to this post on her blog, you can see them out of their bags and even hanging! Give her a shout (a comment) and let her know you came over from here!

I really love what jewels did. My sweet friend even made a prayer
flag especially for me, see below. : ))

thank you, jewels.....
I do believe I'll be very lucky and will have more than one string of prayer flags blowing in the breeze when this swap is complete thanks to the generosity of participants! Don't forget, when the swap is over I will give you all the opportunity to share a photo of your flags hanging up wherever you find a place. That should be fun!

#13.Julie Oman (Jewels) ~ Little Book swap!

Jewels, from Michigan (and Canada) has sent in 2 wonderful little books for our exchange, yippee! On her own blog, Just Tickety-Boo, she has written a wonderful post that describes how she made her books with lots of photos included. Please visit her and say hi! I will include some of my own photos below.
First, the box when it arrived! More about it here . . .
I love getting mail like this! Thanks so much, Jewels.

The Danish gardening book comes in it's own decorated envelope.

It is one of the "instant" books = made from 1 piece of paper.

Click on this photo for details, it is just too funny!! Jewels . . .

The next book comes with a lovely note of explanation on how . . .

It is just gorgeous inside. Jewels has more photos and explanation on her blog.

Little book, closed.

Jewels also enclosed a lovely piece of art for me, I cannot help but share it.
Jewels was a Librarian, so it makes perfect sense!

Can you find it on my studio wall with everything I have there?
My friend Joy is visiting and taking a break after traveling, reading in the sun.
She was fascinated by everything up in my studio . . . .
"Of course you want all those things around you lenna, it is so  h a p p y !"

: ^) keep your little books coming!!
They are due in my hands in 4 weeks -eep!

Julie Oman: Vintage note card swap!

Julie -aka Jewels, sent me a incredible package for this swap recently. Everything was protected and packaged beautifully. I had to carefully cut the bubble wrap open with scissors to even get the cards out! This was actually very smart of Jewels with the snow she has been having in Michigan and the rain we've had here. Everything arrived safe and dry, including a most wonderful gift of collage papers- thank you so much Jewels. With the weather it took an extra day or two but her cards are still here EARLY -whoo whoo!

notice the roller skates!
Click for more detail.
I love that Julie typed up info about her card
and slipped it inside each card - awesome idea!!

The back of these cards are beautiful!
They feature the photo on Jewel's blog.

Thank you so much, Jewels.
Really awesome work.
This is the first online swap for Jewels, too. She wrote,
"Yes, Lenna this is my first ever swap via mail – I've only done ATC exchanges with some of my Guild members so this was all new for me. Thanks for your kind words. As I see all the cards coming in I am amazed at the different techniques and styles of the individuals who made them. They really ALL are super."

I could not agree more! Go to Julie's blog, Just Tickety-Boo to read more about how she created her cards. I just realized she titled her post, "Tales from a wanna be swapper" -sheesh!! Now I remember, this is quite a humorous post about making her cards, please check it out!! Hopefully the mail man will deliver more yummy packages tomorrow. You have 20 days to get yours delivered to me and I can't wait to see them!
