Teri Calia: one more!

Three of Teri's envelopes arrived last Saturday. I thought her mail art set was complete as 3 is the required amount, so I posted all three envelopes here in an earlier post. But one more arrived today, an extra envelope for me! Thank you so much Teri, it is beautiful.

Teri Calia: Mail Art swap

I received three envelopes from Teri Calia today, whoo whoo! I am so sorry that Jo-Ann Reichert's other two envelopes have not arrived yet . . . she sent 3 out to me on Monday and on Thursday, one arrived. All I can say is that sometimes the regular mail can take a week to reach me, so make sure you mail early. Everything has to be here by December 4th to count for the swap!
I created a new blog header today and used one of Jo-Ann's envelopes-you can see the top of the blog!

Now on to Teri's wonderful envelopes:
beautiful handmade envelopes!
Thank you, Teri!
The backs

love these! Such awesome handwriting Teri has.

I guess I will decide to open these envelopes as they come in and I see what the situation is! I could tell Teri had enclosed something . . . she used a type of masking tape that seemed re-seal-able and I was curious, so I opened one of her envelopes. She enclosed a card with some of her artwork the (the main image is not shown here) and some cool die-cut pieces. Very sweet! I may not open your envelopes unless there is an extra one for me - or it seems do-able and something is inside. Then I might open one. Remember, you may send them empty! You can always email me instructions or write your wishes directly on the envelope. It is going to be a delightful month for me receiving your mail and soon I will start working on all the mail art envelopes I will need to create to send your returns home in. Looking forward to it!

Let me know if you have any questions, : ) lenna

Star Ornament Swap! Teri Calia - California *Winner!*

Sometimes I give prizes for the most creative entries in my art swaps, but not for every swap I announce. I did not mention that I would give a prize for this particular swap when I put the call out, but . . . . when I saw Teri Calia's "cat" Star Ornaments, I just cannot resist making a 'surprise' First Prize winner! Just look at her little "star" Kitties!

~ *I am awarding Teri Calia FIRST PRIZE for the most creative star ornaments! * ~

Teri sent me an E-mail, describing how she made these cute, cute ornaments!! --

"Per your request, here are some instructions for the blog:
I hope my ornaments are star shaped enough, because I couldn't resist making them into kitties. I was inspired by vintage chenille ornaments. They were soooo easy to make! I bent bumpy chenille stems (pipe cleaners) into star shapes. Then I cut cat heads from some Victorian scrap. I decorated the cat heads with Dresden crowns and silk ribbon and glued them onto the stars. Then I bent the bottom "points" up for feet and added a piece of Merry Christmas ribbon as a banner. I finished them off with thin wire for hanging. Thanks for hosting, Lenna! I really enjoy your swaps because they are so organized and have wonderful themes that really spark my imagination.
xo, Teri
"

*I will be sending Teri a delicious assortment of collage goodies for her to have fun with, when I return her swaps to her next week : ) Visit Teri's blog: Artistic Catnip to see more of her awesome art. She is a very talented illustrator and mixed media artist.

Wow, this is last very last post of uploads from the Star Ornament swap! If I have forgotten to add a link to your own blog where you have showcased your stars - just send me an E-mail and let me know -I'll edit the post & add the address. Same if I forgot instructions.

Now, I will really get busy and work on the physical swapping out of the ornaments. Thanks for your patience, and I will keep you updated as to when the swap is complete/sent home to participants! Thanks for all your lovely comments, too ~ Lenna

Itty Bitty Collage swap: Teri Calia

Teri Calia from Emeryville, CA sent in 6 colorful itty bitty collages for our swap and an extra for me - thanks so much! I think the "summer" theme for these 3"x3" collages has many people thinking of bright colors, flowers & butterflies! I know Teri said the size and theme really inspired her to create. What fun to put your swapped sets together after you receive them and make a small book or frame the mini collages : )

Grimm fairytale 5x5 Collage swap: Teri Calia

Teri Calia is from Emeryville, California -- the hometown of Alpha Stamps! Teri has sent in 5 Grimm fairytale collages ~ 4 for the swap and an extra piece for Leslie and I to share, thanks ever so much! The zig zag edges Teri has done on her collages really caught my eye and I like the way she has put the two parts of her collage together with eyelets. Click on any photograph for more detail.

All of the collage images and clear stickers (cinderella's glass slipper>>) Teri used on her collages can be seen on this page at Alpha Stamps.

Teri also sent a little gift for me, see below : ) She sent a fun matchbook style notepad she made, so cool! I love Teri's mini card and she also included a Catnip Designs button too! Thank you, Teri for everything!! Look for Teri's art on ETSY under catnip designs :)

Altered by Design ATC swap: Teri Calia

These really interesting ATCs are from Teri Calia in Emeryville, CA. Teri used something textural, maybe a paper napkin? and then she brushed over the surface with some kind of medium I think. The images she used are covered with plastic/acrylic squares. Cool! She also used real dried flowers.

Teri told me she used images from "when angels cry" and "digital divas 2". Lovely work! Thank you, Teri.

Alpha Stamp/Tallulah's Swap: Teri Calia

Oh my! This is Teri Calia's Tallulah's postcard created especially for Leslie Elledge, the owner of Alpha Stamps & sponsor of this swap. I think this postcard Teri made is very beautiful and it's so fitting that she asked me to pass this card on to Leslie - who works very hard to create beautiful images for us to work with! Teri also created a card especially for me, and then enclosed 4 more cards to swap. Wow! Teri hails from Emeryville, CA - the hometown of Alpha Stamps!
The backs of Teri's postcards look like this:

I love it! Plain backs are very nice, but I enjoy this so much.

I recently found out Teri has an ETSY shop, called Catnip Designs! You must check it out! Teri is very talented and has many great pieces of art for sale. Below are the rest of Teri's cards for our swap- please click on any one that you wish to see in more detail.

Teri's images on her postcards come from the Beauty Queens Sheet and Paris Showgirls #1 found at Alpha Stamps.

Thank you, Teri!
