Val Cowan - Prayer Flag Swap!

Val has sent very beautiful, extraordinary flags for our swap -- all the way from Scotland! She has been doing art swaps with me for a number of years. Since 2008, I believe! You can see all of her gorgeous swap art here, on this blog.

Val also made me the sweetest gift.
It is funny, too!
I already have hung it up in my studio, thank you!!

This makes me giggle!
The plaid will make me think of Scotland - and Val's kindnesses.
So glad you could participate, Val : 0 )

Val Cowan - July ATCs: Colour my World!!

Val has been swapping art with me for so long, since at least 2008! She has made some really beautiful pieces too- click here to view! This swap post will be at the top and all the rest of the cool things Val has done with me will follow after. If you are looking for your "link" to all the art you have done with creative swaps, scroll to the bottom of the blog. You will find the link list (VIEW CREATIVE SWAP ART :: BY PARTICIPANT) after the last post! Just click on your name and you will go to a page that has just your swap entries on it. You can even copy the web address in the box at the top, save it, send it to friends or return to it to view at anytime. I label your posts so your work/art will continue to be added to this page!

Now! Back to Val Cowan, who sends to us all the way from Scotland. She made ATCs that are a combination of paper and fabric . . . and even sewed paper -- all on a theme of: Colour my World Green, enjoy!

Thanks ever so much, Val.
I love all that you do!

#29.Val Cowan - Wee Little Book swap!!

From Val in Scotland, UK we have 3 precious wee little books! When Val used that term 'wee' when writing to me, I began to think maybe I should have called this swap the Wee Book swap! Here are some notes from Val along with my photos:

1. Wee Bee book - fabric, hand sewn with embellishments.
 Computer printed on fabric.

2.  Green Garden book - card, paper, vintage fabric & lace,
hand & machine stitched.

3  Recycled metal book – Tomato puree tube,
found ribbon, scrap paper, beads.

All I can say is . . .  fabulous!!!!
I am so happy to have your very cool & wee books in this swap, Val.
Thank you!

All garden variety swaps are sent!!

ATC by Val Cowan
Just a quick note to let you know that ALL of the Alpha Stamps garden variety swap packages have been sent - phew! What a large swap this was! Never before did I have to make 4 trips to the post office to make sending swaps manageable, but I have never had 49 participants either! I hope you enjoy your swap returns, and as always I try to exchange pieces based on what I think you might like from looking at your own work. If you have a chance to leave a comment here or email the group that would be lovely, and of course so appreciated! If you need any emails to thank someone please drop me a note.
Inside your swap packages you'll find a mini card with my artwork on  the front. This is where I made them; Moo is highly recommended!

4x4 Roads+Paths swap!

First, a big congratulations to Val Cowan, from Scotland, UK!

I have chosen Val for the most creative 4x4's in this swap! That means Val can enter the next creative swap of her choice for FREE! I did have a difficult time choosing a winner and even enlisted my husband's opinion . . . but Val's imagination and her work really dazzled me. Congratulations, Val!! Just let me know by email next time you want to do a creative swap -it's on me!

For a treat for everyone, I created an animoto video of our Roads & Paths swap with one piece from everyone in the swap included . . . I made 2 sets of 4x4 cards, so you will see my 4x4's on the video first, and also last!

I hope you enjoy this, you can view the slideshow video of the swap here.
I'm so tickled by the mix of fabric and paper produced for this swap, thank you all so much! lenna young andrews - april 24th, 2010
