Julie Oman- Prayer Flag Swap!

Julie Oman (Jewels, as we like to call her) has made some wonderful vintage style prayer flags for our swap. I left them in their sheer presentation bags when I scanned them so you could see them as Jewels prepared them, but if you go to this post on her blog, you can see them out of their bags and even hanging! Give her a shout (a comment) and let her know you came over from here!

I really love what jewels did. My sweet friend even made a prayer
flag especially for me, see below. : ))

thank you, jewels.....
I do believe I'll be very lucky and will have more than one string of prayer flags blowing in the breeze when this swap is complete thanks to the generosity of participants! Don't forget, when the swap is over I will give you all the opportunity to share a photo of your flags hanging up wherever you find a place. That should be fun!

#13.Julie Oman (Jewels) ~ Little Book swap!

Jewels, from Michigan (and Canada) has sent in 2 wonderful little books for our exchange, yippee! On her own blog, Just Tickety-Boo, she has written a wonderful post that describes how she made her books with lots of photos included. Please visit her and say hi! I will include some of my own photos below.
First, the box when it arrived! More about it here . . .
I love getting mail like this! Thanks so much, Jewels.

The Danish gardening book comes in it's own decorated envelope.

It is one of the "instant" books = made from 1 piece of paper.

Click on this photo for details, it is just too funny!! Jewels . . .

The next book comes with a lovely note of explanation on how . . .

It is just gorgeous inside. Jewels has more photos and explanation on her blog.

Little book, closed.

Jewels also enclosed a lovely piece of art for me, I cannot help but share it.
Jewels was a Librarian, so it makes perfect sense!

Can you find it on my studio wall with everything I have there?
My friend Joy is visiting and taking a break after traveling, reading in the sun.
She was fascinated by everything up in my studio . . . .
"Of course you want all those things around you lenna, it is so  h a p p y !"

: ^) keep your little books coming!!
They are due in my hands in 4 weeks -eep!

Julie Oman: Vintage note card swap!

Julie -aka Jewels, sent me a incredible package for this swap recently. Everything was protected and packaged beautifully. I had to carefully cut the bubble wrap open with scissors to even get the cards out! This was actually very smart of Jewels with the snow she has been having in Michigan and the rain we've had here. Everything arrived safe and dry, including a most wonderful gift of collage papers- thank you so much Jewels. With the weather it took an extra day or two but her cards are still here EARLY -whoo whoo!

notice the roller skates!
Click for more detail.
I love that Julie typed up info about her card
and slipped it inside each card - awesome idea!!

The back of these cards are beautiful!
They feature the photo on Jewel's blog.

Thank you so much, Jewels.
Really awesome work.
This is the first online swap for Jewels, too. She wrote,
"Yes, Lenna this is my first ever swap via mail – I've only done ATC exchanges with some of my Guild members so this was all new for me. Thanks for your kind words. As I see all the cards coming in I am amazed at the different techniques and styles of the individuals who made them. They really ALL are super."

I could not agree more! Go to Julie's blog, Just Tickety-Boo to read more about how she created her cards. I just realized she titled her post, "Tales from a wanna be swapper" -sheesh!! Now I remember, this is quite a humorous post about making her cards, please check it out!! Hopefully the mail man will deliver more yummy packages tomorrow. You have 20 days to get yours delivered to me and I can't wait to see them!
