Sabine Schneider: Mail ART swap!

Dear Sabine in Germany, is partaking in I believe her 8th creative swap!! She always does something creative, and 9 times out of 10 she does it with fabric. It is a joy to have her in our mail art swap! I almost forgot to say, Sabine has an art blog, Color Fly. She wrote about her envelopes and the swap, in German of course as that is where she is from, "Es ist einfach der Wahnsinn, was da alles für schöne Post verschickt wird!" --Which Google translated for me as, "It is simply the madness, all of which will be sent to postal beautiful there!"  : ^ ))

Sabine's envelopes are created from some kind of interfacing I think (heavy duty - Lutradur) that she painted. I remember when she sent them off she told me in an email, "I sewed so little!"

I am certainly enjoying! Thanks for the extra - xo

So grand to have mail art/art mail all the way from Germany
 - thank you, Sabine!!!!

Julie Coon: mail art swap!

I really love what Julie did for our mail art swap. They are like no others that I have seen come in. For 3 days in a row, I received a mail art envie from Julie every day -one a day! Then a few days went by and today, on the 24th, I received her last envelope. Kind of sad!!!!! Thanks Julie = I loved your all-over collaged envelopes. Now, Julie wrote me and told me she has put an ATC in her envelopes so make sure you open it, if you receive it in trade. I have not been opening any envelopes, really - I figure when the swap is done I will go through them and open any I kept that seem to need it!

such great mail art!!!

Rita Rehlinger: mail ART swap!!

Rita in Wisconsin is taking my mini art quilt book workshop -- 5 lessons (pdf files sent to you) all about making fabric "quilties" and turning them into a fabric book, or two or 3! Rita just got started. It is a 'work at your own pace' workshop, with coaching from me as you need it. In the meantime, Rita joined our swap and has created some wonderful fabric postcards. Wait 'till you see what she has done!

I love how Rita used "Quilt" postage stamps!

Really lovely, Rita.
Thanks a bunch!!!

Marjorie Jumisco: 1 more!

Marjorie and I thought this envelope was lost, but it turned up!
This makes 4 mail art pieces for Marjorie in North Carolina. : ^ )

Thank you!

Ginny Ballou: Mail Art Swap!

From Ginny in Massachusetts!

This envelope is 10" x 12"!!!

Very, very COOL! Thanks, Ginny!!

Thelma Bradshaw: mail ART swap!

Thelma in Arkansas has sent in 3 Zentangle envelopes and one beautiful collaged envelope with a sewing theme. It is hard to choose which one to keep for myself, since she made an extra! I am also thinking of taking the extra envelopes I receive in this swap and somehow making them into a book. If I don't do that, I will at least put them into a binder of sorts with clear pages so you can see both sides of the envelopes. I'll share what I do down the road!

Thanks, Thelma, gorgeous mail art!

Cathy Johnson: mail art swap!

From Cathy in Texas, I finally have all 4 pieces of her mail art, hooray! Last Friday I received 3 of Cathy's envelopes and four days later on Tuesday, I received the last one. Cathy's pieces are rich with stamping, paint perhaps, and ink -yum!

Wow!!
Thank you Cathy, for your participation
and your patience with that last piece of mail!
Santa was naughty, taking his time getting here like that!!

All in one day!!
Please check the sidebar to see if yours came in ; ^ ))
I will upload completed sets later tonight or tomorrow . . .
you are doing fabulous!
i love your mail art!!

Marnie Blum: Mail Art Swap!

From Marnie in North Carolina, I have 3 wonderful envelopes to share. It really helps me when you are sending your swaps if you can email me and let me know whether you have 3 or 4 envelopes coming. Either is fine! Marnie did let me know, which is great . . .  this morning I remembered (!) then realized her set was complete and that I could share them. ; ^  )

Gorgeous mail ART, Marnie -- thank you so much! You can visit Marnie's blog here: Otter Blue.

Rena Matus: Mail ART swap!!

From Connecticut, where I used to live - 4 wonderful envelopes all on the same day from Rena Matus. I taught classes in my home studio and local stores in CT and Rena was often there! I do miss that and I'm glad that we can stay in touch through my creative swaps now. I see from the cancellation on Rena's envelopes that she mailed them in Glastonbury, one of the towns I grew up in. It also took only 4 days to travel to Florida; not bad! Rena's envelopes are very creative and they make me smile. I have scanned just one picture of them, showing the back of one as they are all similar. I love the stamp of the airplane and note on the back about them being empty. Thanks so much, Rena -these are great!!

Kate North: mail Art Swap!

From the UK, Kate North has sent us 4 completely different envelopes. I love this! It is very interesting when the envelopes (or any swap pieces) are different from one another, but it is never a requirement with me. When I do multiples for a swap or exchange that I am participating in, my pieces are usually made the same, with variations. If you create all your swap pieces the same for one of my swaps -it is fine by me! Some people work better if they can try out different ideas, so I welcome this as well. Below are the fronts and backs of all 4 pieces of mail Art Kate sent in. Thanks so much for the extra one for me! I love, love, love the Winnie the Pooh postage stamp you chose.

Kate has an active blog where you can see more of her art: Kate's quilting and other Fiber Arts. She also hosts exchanges! I have signed up to be part of her journal quilt exchange (1 for 1): Another little Quilt swap. I am looking forward to getting busy with this project when I complete this swap!
