Barbara Johnson - Inspiration Collage

Today I was greeted by TWO swap packages, how delightful. It is a lot of fun to see the variety of collages that come in. First we have three 5x5's from Barbara Johnson. This is Barbara's 8th Creative Swap, wow! Thanks ever so much Barbara. I am glad to hear how much you enjoy my creative swaps and know you'd like to do more. I am definitely thinking of continuing.

I love this first one, very random & free with ripped text & part of my old family calendar :)

That green & blue marbled paper is my favorite and the green & blue 

watercolor or dye pulls it all together - great job! 

 I am also so fond of this next one. The brown, black & mustard tones elicit such an earthy feeling.

 Again, I really enjoy seeing how you used the mustard swirl paper -your doodling is fantastic! 

And how magnificent is this! The colors and repeating circles make it for me.  

So appreciate you sending early, Barbara -and great collages!

Nancy Roberts - Inspiration Collage

Nancy's collages arrived yesterday -Jan 7th, thank you! Nancy wrote me a note saying she had a lot of fun even though she has not done a lot of collage so far. She told me she certainly has enough "stuff" to add to what I sent. So great! I have just discovered Nancy's own post on her own blog about making them so I am adding a link to her blog as there is a lot more description there :-)

Here is what Nancy created!

I spy a postage stamp and a mesh bag I probably sent.

"Express Yourself" - Love this! I must admit it is one of many wrappers

 I saved from a dark chocolate Dove mini. 

The old design of wrappers seem to have better words!!

I love seeing the mustard colored paper with the swirls. 

Most everyone received a bit of this. Fits perfectly here.

 Nancy also made an extra collage for me, so sweet!! The quote is one that I produced as a LennaLines quote stamp many years ago. Thank you so much for this Nancy and the extra interesting textured papers you sent, I am really glad you were able to join in with Creative Swaps again!

Julie (Jewels) Welsh - Inspiration Collage

My friend Jewels' collages arrived on Jan 6th. I found them waiting for me when we returned from our little trip to Sanibel :) I try to scan & upload the items promptly, but starting with this swap I am giving myself a break and allowing 48 hours to get it done! I do mark them received on the SWAP PARTICIPANT LIST - if you want to check on their arrival anytime -just click there. It is January 8th as I type . . . you have 3 weeks to get your swaps delivered to me and in my hands by January 30th. So think about starting this weekend if you want to be included. It does not have to be fancy or complicated (unless that is what you want to do). I would love to see you simply jump in and PLAY!! I can see that is was Jewels did and it makes me ✴ s m i l e ✴

I love recognizing the different creative ways many of you are using the collage bits I sent.

Jewels loves this style of vintage and I think it looks great on this collage 

with a snippet of text I provided. Also, I spy that Canadian map I sent her especially!

The little boy Jewels has combined with the vintage dog I sent her are perfect! 

So glad you enjoyed playing in this swap Jewels. Love what you did.

Susan Stewart - Inspiration Collage

Susan Stewart's 5x5 Collages landed in my mailbox today -hooray! She sent them off one full week ago and she lives in the same town as I do! So please mail early to ensure your swaps get here by the Jan 30th deadline. I really enjoyed what Susan created and recognized many of the items she used.

Cate Zimmerman - Inspiration Collage

Cate Zimmerman's collage arrived today, January 2, 2016 . . . our first package to arrive in the new year! There are 35 participants registered, so we should see over 30 more sets of collages arrive here before January 30th, I can't wait!

I like how Cate combined collage & watercolor. I also like that I spy some of my mono leaf printing on Deli Paper on the card above, as well as some other collage bits I sent -fun! Cate also did a bit of collage on the back of her cards, which is a great idea if you wish. Keeping it plain is fine too.

Please try to write your name & email on the back of your collages so your recipient will have a way to get in touch with you. Thanks & happy arting!

Can you imagine that after 3 years of rest, I am excited again about hosting a swap! I've been thinking about doing this for a while, but only just recently came upon an idea I really like. I'm naming this new swap the INSPIRATION COLLAGE SWAP. You will make 3 collages and receive 3 collages!

Everything is due in my hands Jan 30th, 2016. The size of all of the collages will be 5x5 inch watercolor paper and I will mail the blanks to you to work on after you register via PayPal. The cost is $6.00/USA and $8.00/International mailing. I'm calling this the Inspiration Collage swap because when you register, not only will I send you the watercolor squares, but I will also send you a baggie of collage inspiration! :O)

December 4th, 2015: Announcing a new Creative Swap!
✴ Inspiration Collage: Three collages (sized 5x5) swapped for Three ✴

Create THREE collages of any style using the watercolor squares I send to you (I’m doing this for consistency). The cost to register is $6.00/USA and $8.00/International, payable to me only via PayPal. You MUST include your mailing address when registering. 

When the swap has concluded, you'll receive in the mail from me, the same amount of collages done by other artists and swapped back to you in return. All of the swap packages (your 3 collages) must be delivered to me on or before January 30th, 2016. Please note that late entries will not be included in the swap. After you register for this swap, I will send you a small baggie of inspiration (collage items) along with THREE 5” x 5” watercolor squares for you to create your collages with. Please try to use at least one item from the inspiration bag I send to you on each 5x5 square (use more if you like). You are of course, free to use anything else for your collages: paint, paper, stencils, paints, watercolor crayons, your own collage materials, inks, rubber stamps, ephemera, etc.
