update 6.18.11

While Steven was messing about with boats . . .
(that is his little sailing canoe in the front here)

I was messing about with little books!
** 49 sets of little books! **
151 handmade books in total

I did get 8 packages completely swapped, sealed up and addressed this afternoon,
with a bunch more partially done. Steven came home and then we went to visit my mom & dad. Dad is doing alright, looking better in fact -he's been dealing with cancer for some time now. We chatted, came home & had some wine, had dinner and watched Glee on our Raku -via streaming Netflix. We don't have TV, but I am hooked on that show Glee!

Anyway, I will get back to the packaging of books tomorrow, promise. I appreciate all your support on how I run my swaps. It is not always easy (you cannot please everyone) but I think it's the right way to do it and I am so grateful most of you agree!
thank you - xo lenna

  1. The photo in this post is absolutely stunning. Just the right angle - you have created such depth and distance ... then the little path leads you even further. Very charming, Lena. I could live with that for a long time. You have my total support regarding the way you run your swaps. Any other way, you would drive yourself around the bend and burn out quickly. Result? No more swaps. And yes, there is one thing for sure in life ... we will never please 100% of the people 100% of the time. Taking care of your own needs makes these swaps possible. If you are not OK ... the swap is not OK. It's like putting your oxygen mask on first before you help others ... makes perfect sense to me. You are doing a fabulous job!

  2. I think I would rather be mssing about on that little boat, too, looks cool! Take your time, and don't get knots in your fingers. A few days more or less can just highten the tension to hItchcok levels! Valerie
